So this is a second time read for me. I read this series at least 8 years ago and remembered loving it. I’ve been wanting a reread and this time I did the audiobooks from my local library. I loved the audiobook! I did listen to it at at least 2x the speed- I found the narrator a bit slow. But I really liked the narrator! She’s no Jim Dale (he reads the harry potter books which are easily the best narrated audiobooks in the history of audiobooks) but we she was really good!
This is a sci fi LOOSE retelling of cinderella. As I was listening to it, I found myself to be kind of stressed! I couldn’t remember what was going to happen next (I know, I know- it’s a reread but I read a lot of books and I could reread a book I read 2 months ago and still not be able to tell you the characters names). At one point I thought, wow my brain truly can only read romance these days… I cannot handle the stress of sci fi/fantasy novels anymore! But I persevered and I’m so glad I did. (Let the record show that there is romance in this book. No steam- but romance!)
