the love hypothesis by ali hazelwood

Ok, this book was VERY cute. plenty of things that had me constantly smile reading and laughing. I’m basically obsessed with Adam. OBSESSED. I read this basically overnight. I mean, sure- I had to sleep and finished it in the morning, but still. I will confess that this book may have given me severe anxiety. I was so on their team that I was so terrified for when the climax of drama would occur. Ok, fine- that could be a very unhealthy reaction to reading a book. But in my defense…it was ADAM and Olive. (see how I CAPsed Adam? Bc…like I said, obsessed!)

Two songs reminded me of this book while I was reading it…
From Olive’s perspective:
Strangers by Sigrid
”Like strangers, perfect pretenders
We're falling head over heels
For something that ain't real
It could never be us, it’s
Just you and I”

From Adam’s perspective:
Come with Me by Echosmith.
”Come with me
And I'll take you away if you let me
Stay with me
And I'll cover your soul with my body
Give me you're heart
And I'll give you my love
It's a work of art
When you shine like the sun
So give your heart to me
Give your heart to me”

My biggest issue was that I wasn’t always on team Olive. Her friends were amazing and a great support system but up to the last scene (pre epilogue) she was still clarifying something that should’ve been clarified much earlier in the plot. Also- after the big climax in the story, the couple went on a double date instead of debriefing, which seemed so weird to me. These things did not take a lot away from the book for me, I would still recommend it easily and can totally see why everyone is RAVING about this book. YOU SHOULD READ IT!

Thank you Johnson County Library for this copy quickly because I was 12th in line…
