my favorite episodes of gilmore girls
Listen, I love Gilmore Girls. I don’t think there’s another fandom that compares in my life like GG. I’ve seen the seasons countless times…seriously, I cannot count the number of times I’ve seen it. So I thought it was about time that I listed my absolute favorite episodes of Gilmore Girls. You’ll notice some episodes missing that you think should be listed (I’m looking at you Raincoats and Recipes)…so I should mention some things right off the bat. I don’t like any episodes that feature Rory cheating with Dean. I don’t like a lot of Luke + Lorelai episodes because I’m Team Christopher. (I know I’m in the minority but I will not change my opinion! I don’t like Luke!). Okay without further ado, here comes my favorites list:

in my stars hollow world…..
If I was going to write some Gilmore Girls fan-fiction, here are the changes that I would make to the plot:
After Dave leaves for the O.C. Lane to runs into Henry again. He ends up being her HEA (happily ever after). This makes her mom happy. Henry also is a big supporter of Lane’s music/band. This makes her mother unhappy- therefore creating balance in her world.
Luke communicates like an adult and confides that he selfishly wants to parent April by himself even though he wanted to be greatly involved in Rory’s upbringing. Lorelai realizes that Luke is a hot mess of grumpiness and tries to woo-back Christopher- who has always gotten her and can participate easily in her banter. Chris eventually forgives Lorelai for using him throughout the years. Chris uses the money he inherited to give scholarships to kids who want to go to fancy schools but can’t afford it. He spends his spare time trying to learn how to brew his own beer.
Lorelai apologizes to her parents for her part of their communication issues. Emily is so shocked that she makes a conscious effort to treat Lorelai like a responsible adult. Richard often has to remind Emily of her noble intentions.
Rory does leave to cover Barack Obama’s campaign. On the campaign she realized that she does love Logan and she is just making the same mistake she did when she didn’t tell Dean that she loved him. She’s scared. She decides to behave like a reasonable adult who communicates healthily. She calls Logan and attempts to woo him back over time because she has broken his trust. Ultimately they get back together and become engages. They buy a newspaper together that they run together.
Jess ends up writing the book as planned- it gains a lot of steam and is optioned for a movie. Major publishers reach out to represent him in future books. He declines because he doesn’t want to be another cog in the wheel of a big enterprise. In his final scene in the show, he’ll be writing in a coffee shop. Someone will ask to share his table because the coffee shop is packed. He asks her if she reads much. She replies, “what is much?”
Kirk does an ancestry test and finds out that he and Taylor are distant cousins. He then decides to “shadow” Taylore non-stop to bond. Taylor eventually gives the reins to Kirk as the “I’m in charge of all things in the town” role.
Paris and Doyle end up together forever. Doyle does end up a writer for major TV shows. Paris ends up as the headmaster for Chilton. She finds joy in terrorizing the next generation of world changers.
The town troubadour starts teaching music classes out of Sophie’s studio. Lane becomes his manager as well as managing Hep Alien.
Sookie and Jackson start to teach classes at the Dragonfly. Sookie teaches cooking and baking, while Jackson teaches gardening 101. Jackson is credited with creating many varieties of new fruits and vegetables with cross-pollination. Sookie uses these fruits and veggies in her dishes. Her restaurant has a 6 month waiting list.
Richard and Emily release their hold on Friday Night Dinner because it’s an absurd evening to always have a commitment. Lorelai and Rory decide to keep coming over anyways, with no strings attached, but on Tuesdays.
